About
Statement
Looking for the extraordinary in the ordinary is a concept that captured my imagination years ago and continues to influence me today. I find inspiration in making things that people use in their daily lives. Whether making a platter for the table or a lamp for the home, my goal is to contribute beauty, simplicity and a sense of harmony through my work.
I took my first clay class over 30 years ago and feel it is such a privilege to have spent the past three decades immersed in the exploration of clay. Through working with clay, I have learned to be patient, to enjoy the process and not to become overly attached to the outcome. I’ve been humbled and I’ve experienced delightful surprises. My current line of tableware is the result of “happy” mistakes and surprising discoveries. I’ve learned that what appears to be an insurmountable problem is sometimes only a clue that can lead you step by step to a solution you had not dreamed of before. How fortunate for me that I could learn such significant life lessons while having my hands covered in mud….I am very much looking forward to many more years of creating, growing, learning and playing.
Thank you for visiting my website and for your interest in my work.
